Live Shows/Hang Out with Jesse Singal in New York and DC!

The $oyboys are coming to exactly the places you'd expect to find us

Hey there! I’ll be doing two shows soon with Jesse Singal of the excellent Blocked & Reported podcast and the frankly-not-as-good Singal Minded newsletter (jk, but for more sick burns like that, come to the show!). One is in New York City at the Village Underground at 4PM on March 22 (get tickets), and one is in Washington, DC at the DC Improv at 7PM on March 23 (get tickets). We chose those cities because though we pretend to be edgy “heterodox” writers, we’re actually effete elitists who live in exactly the twee, bougie surroundings where you’d expect to find us. Meaning: New York and DC.

We did a show in Chicago last year, and it was a blast. We’re going to talk about current events without ODing on Trump, and I’ll be doing a “John Oliver except bad” piece. There will also be a Q&A, and after the DC show, we’ll walk next door and have a beer with anyone who wants to join (though unfortunately we can’t do that after the New York show because we have to get down to DC!). It should be fun and the early start times ensure that everything will conclude at an hour appropriate for a man of my age.

Fair warning, though: I couldn’t think of a way to keep the unpaid subscribers from coming to the show or the post-show hang. Believe me, I tried — oh God, how I tried! But some unpaids might show up and eat off the floor and be frightened by the electricity, and we’ll just have to deal with that.
